La Cursa de la  Merce 2012 is already 8000 people registered month ahead  expecting to be more than 16000,  is a great race 10 k which serve to me to complete the Berlin Marathon training.

This time registration fee is 5.-€ if you own yellow chip or 7.-€ you don´t .

It seems , always according to organization sources , this year there will be a recall of the Olimpic Games celebrated 20 years ago.

Good race to everybody , enjoy and I look forward seeing you there !!!

Barcelona nice shortcut to get the marina

Here you go 40 ´minutes run , ideal for when you do not have  much time or you just want to stretch the legs after long run . This is really nice route  a combination of sport and leisure enjoying running across the narrow streets , little squares and churches it looks like to be back to pass time  when Barcelona was  walled city to fend from pirates and others , nowadays this is vibrant and crowded neighborhood with bars , little restaurants , shops an street  life .  The route , as I  will show your later is crossing the whole distric 1 of Barcelona called "Ciutat Vella" which is made up at same time of different sub districs  (Barri Gotic, la Ribera , Raval , Barceloneta, Sant Pere i Santa Caterine ) the most interesting part of my beautiful town ..... Enjoy this round trip walk !!!!!

the whole route

Route part 1

When we start the route ?  have a guess  !!! Arc del triomf ????? you´re right , this  emblematic place it was built for the Universal Exhibition of Barcelona (1888) and today is one of the meeting points in town ,worldwide skaters , bikers , joggers ,  jugglers an many others met below the big arch .

"Arc Del Triomf " starting line

Then we head southwest towards Carrer Trafalgar , exit the roundabout onto carrer de Trafalgar , head southwest on carrer de Trafalgar towards Passatge de Sant Benet , head southwest on carrer de Trafalgar towards Mendez Nuñez , turn left onto Carrer Mendez Nuñez.

Carrer Mendez Nuñez

Turn left onto Carrer Sant Pere més alt  and head northeast on Sant Pere més alt towards Plaça Sant Pere  right here you will have the feeling to returning to the past , streets get narrow not much cars , trees , bikes and many people on the streets become normal .
